We raise Green Cheek Conures. Green Cheeks Conures - GCC - originated in South and Central America and in the Mexico area. They are members of the Psittacidae family. Their genus is called Pyrrhura.

Green Cheeks are about 10" long. They are not strong talkers, but may say a few words. Don't buy a Green Cheek for their talking ability....buy a Green Cheek for their personality. They are very playful, cuddly, comical and make great companions. They aren't a loud bird. They are easy to train and love to BE trained.

Green Cheeks can get "nippy". It is important to train them, from day one, that this is an unacceptable behavior. I can show you how to keep a baby from biting when you come to pick your baby up. It's important that a handfed baby have daily one-on-one attention, so they don't start to lose their tameness.
